Archive Building

Floods, Fungus, Friendship and Fibre

Tuesday July 5th, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
at R and R
Lallubhai Compound
Mankhurd, Mumbai

With Aaaaarg, Memory of the World, Open Media Library, Custodians Online solidarity, and others.

We are delighted to announce a public event with the creators, supporters and librarians of numerous international text archive platforms who are visiting our city. These include AaaaargMemory of the World and Open Media Library and several individuals who are part of Custodians Online solidarity, among others.

Bodó Balázs and Lawrence Liang will open the event with a comparative account of the infrastructures and motivations of such 21st century archival initiatives. This is also in the context of a collective effort that would be needed to scan, share and build online repositories so much needed in our own city.

Do join us!

This is the concluding event of Architectures of Knowledge, a meeting organised in collaboration by Columbias Group for Experimental Methods in the Humanities; a two-day workshop on book scanning and managing collections that took place at CAMP and a two-day meeting at TISS.

EK DOZEN PAANI
(2008)

Join us for a special Flashback Friday evening, as we journey back with the films in the presence of, and in conversation with many of the filmmakers, accompanied by bonus archival material.

PaNi SaRe DhaGa Ma (Water Is In All The Clouds) as the sargam notes and title connote was an exploration of the many lives of water - social, political, material, and spectral - as lived and experienced by young dwellers of the Mumbai suburbs of east Jogeshwari in 2008
