Screening indoors for the first time.
A one hour video documenting the project along with live commentary from DJ Amala and questions and answers ended the week of battery-operated soirees.
40+ DVD's of some of the screenings and discussions were distributed in the market.
Sept Soirees was a series of battery-powered "evenings" in the Marche N' Gellaw, a suburban market in Dakar, Senegal. These evenings were conceived in a situation where there is scarce time, space or other resources for communal activity at a certain scale. Also because of the peculiar condition of cinemas in Dakar: there are only two still functioning.
These "micro-cinema" and "micro-radio" events are performed by showing up at a street corner with some equipment, and negotiating the rest.
With filmmakers and scholars Helen Grace and Iqbal Barkat who also feature in the film.
Helen will introduce the film and Iqbal will lead and moderate the post-screening discussion with CAMP.

Shaina joined artists Sheela Gowda, Rekha Rodwittya, Indrapramit Roy, Gigi Scaria and moderator Gayatri Sinha for a conversation inaugurating Intersections- an exhibition commemorating 50 years of the Inlaks Foundation at Arthshila, Delhi.
